Day 177, 25.03.2025. — Are we ready for Uganda? 🇺🇬
The night is pleasantly cool, and there are no mosquitoes — Uganda has started great! 🥳 And the first day is all about getting acquainted. Already at the first little shop, the price for a SIM card is ten times higher than the real one, and we wonder if they’ve mixed up the numbers, but apparently, they speak English in Uganda. By the way, the local languages are tonal, just like in China — it’s important how exactly a word is pronounced, not just what is said. 🗣️ The locals seem a bit slow… very unhurried. But maybe that’s just the early morning impression. 😴
The market is a pleasant surprise — there are vegetables, there are fruits. It’s clear — there will be food! 🤤 Uganda’s GDP is growing every year, the country is developing, and it seems like things should be moving in a good direction. 😅 Still, this feels much more like Africa than Rwanda. We’re back to dusty streets, motorcycles without helmets, and we’re riding on one of them to reach the most beautiful part of our chosen destination — Lake Bunyonyi. 💧 It’s surrounded by mountains and adorned with islands, and there’s also no crocodiles or big predators here, so it’s relatively safe for swimming. 🏊
