🇷🇼 3/2025 Rwanda Travel
Day 170, 18.03.2025. — The half of Africa! 🇷🇼
Rwanda is our half of Africa. We’ve already realized that all 54 African countries would drive us crazy. 🤯 There have been plenty of moments when we almost just gave up and flew off to other warm places. 🏝️ But it seems like here, we can finally catch our breath for a while.
So, here we are… It’s night, and the driver gets stopped by the police. They even ask him to do alcohol test. 👀 There are warning signs on the roads about speed cameras! What city is this? What country is this? 🤨 How can it be so developed? It’s completely different from the neighboring ones! The lights twinkle in the mountains. They have electricity! 😯
We arrive in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital, after a 15-hour drive. There’s no real bus station, just a small motel next to a car lot with a broken bed and bathroom door, no water. But hey, what can you expect in a developing country for just five bucks? 😅 We wake up next to a very busy market. There are motorcycles here too, but they only carry one passenger each and even give them a helmet! 🪖 Wow! There are actual streets. Streets where pedestrians can walk. There are traffic lights. 🚦 And there are mountains. Kigali is a true athlete’s city — up and down, and up again with big bags — it’s like morning exercise. There are fountains. ⛲ And shops. Selling pastries and coffee…
